SUMMER SUNDAY MORNING ADULT BIBLE CLASS: HEROES OF THE FAITH Bible Class will continue to meet through September 30th for all adults in the Fellowship Hall. Each study is independent of the others; so if you miss a week you won’t feel behind.  Pastor Fausel and Paul Nickel facilitate the class.

RADIO MINISTRY CHANGED: Our Sunday morning, “Music and a Message” will be aired ONLY on 1080 AM - WKJK at 9:30 AM each Sunday morning.
 
YOUNG ADULT LUTHERAN LIFE (YA'LL) CHRISTCARE GROUP: (open to anyone who considers themselves a young adult) is starting a Bible study of Ecclesiastes!  YA'LL meets Thursdays at 7:30 PM at the Robisons' 1505 Cadence Ct.  The first session of the Ecclesiastes study will be August 2nd, but visitors are welcome to check it out at any time!  Contact David or Leah Robison at 938-4766 with any questions.  We would love to see you there!

TODAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL: “Jesus Calms a Storm” (Luke 8:22–25). Students learned how Jesus showed His care for His disciples. Discuss the wonderful ways God cares for us also. Parents might ask, “How did Jesus show His care and concern for His disciples? How does God show His care for us as His children?”

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: We have a financial commitment of $8,000; as well as, a strong commitment of prayers and physical laborers to meet. Please sign up on the church bulletin board on days you can assist.

OSLC GROUNDS CLEAN UP DAY:  Please join your fellow members on Saturday, August 18, anytime between 9 AM and 3 PM to help spruce up the grounds around Our Savior.  There will be a sign-up sheet in bulletin board in the church lobby.  Please bring gardening tools, gloves, etc.  Make sure you sign-up as lunch will be provided.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. Brieschke at 426-0864.

CAMP CEDARBROOK VESPERS: Sunday Evening Devotions are at 6 PM. The camp is located just SE of the Lanesville, IN interchange off of I-64. In case of rain, the devotions will be held indoors.

TEACHING SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  A sign up sheet will be outside the Music Room with dates needed. Three levels of classes are offered. Lessons are provided. Please consider volunteering.

MEN’S SOFTBALL TEAM GAME: Last game of the year is Monday night at 6:30 PM at Watson’s Memorial.   

FREE:  Copies of the 2001 Reformation Service featuring Oswald Hoffmann on VHS.  The tapes are located in the church lobby.  There are 60 copies available to members of Our Savior.  They were found during recent cleaning.

ADDRESS/TELEPHONE DIRECTORY: A new address/telephone directory for the congregation will be printed soon. A current copy has been placed on the Welcome Center for you to check to verify your information. Please correct any information next to your name legibly. The directory will be printed at the end of September which should allow everyone a chance to review their information.

RALLY DAY/CHURCH PICNIC:  August 26 has been set for Rally Day and the Church picnic.  Mark your calendars now and watch for details.

PRESCHOOL CHILDCARE STUDENTS NEEDED: Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year we will be open Monday–Friday from 7 AM – 6 PM. If you know anyone who is interested in this new preschool program for three and four year olds, please have them contact the school office, 426-0864 possible.

BORROWING ITEMS FROM THE CHURCH:  If anyone needs to borrow tables or chairs or any other items from the church please contact the church office, 426-1130, at least one week prior to your event.  Please do not remove tables or chairs or other items without the office being informed.

SUNDAY SCHOOL LEADERS NEEDED:  Please give thanks for the service of Heidi Schulz and Leanne Harden who have served as Sunday School Co-Directors for the past two and half years. God is moving them on to new areas of service. Pray that God would direct one or two people’s hearts willing to become Sunday School Co-directors. We have been actively looking and asking for almost six months.  Please prayerfully consider this need for the church in your own heart, is God calling you?  Please contact Paul Nickel for additional information.   

BOOK CLUB:  Is now reading Peace Like A River, by Leif Enger (a NY Times Bestseller). There are 3 copies left! Join us! We will meet next week, August 5, at Bristol following the late service to discuss and get the next book S Is For Silence, by Sue Grafton. These are library sets so there's no charge - except for brunch. Call Karen Osborne, 243-1765.

ALTAR FLOWERS:  Anyone wishing to place flowers on the altar in honor of or in memory of someone may do so by signing up on the Flower Chart at the bottom of the stairs in the church lobby.  Please complete a card and a remit a check payable to LWML for $16.00.

DONATED ITEM PICK-UP: The State Farm Claims office on Juneau Drive in Middletown, has donated several tables, chairs, desks, computer stands, two microwave ovens and a television to OSLS. We will have to be at their office at 9:30 AM Tuesday, July 31, with a truck and people to load everything up and then unload at OSLS.  Larry Ashley, 458-4641 and Marty Brieschke, 290-5584 or 426-0864 are looking for a truck or two and volunteers to help load and unload the items.  Please contact one of them if you can help.  Thank you.  

ADDRESS CHANGES:  Anytime you move or change phone numbers please contact the church office with the new information so we may keep our records up-to-date.   When bulk mail is returned to us with a change of address we must pay full postage at that time which has been averaging $.58 a piece of mail.  We appreciate your assistance in keeping this cost down and keeping our records as current as possible.

MEIJER COMMUNITY REWARDS:  If you have a Community Reward Card from Meijer that has in the past rebated monies back to the church you will need to re-enroll in order for the church to continue to benefit from the rebate.  To re-enroll go to their website at www.meijer.com/rewards.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION AND CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS:  The school continues to participate in these two programs.  On Campbell Soup products please save the UPC symbol with the Campbell symbol, and for other products the UPC symbol that is marked Campbell Soup Label.  If you would like a complete list of participating products please contact the school or church office or you may go on line to www.labelsforeducation.com. The Box Top for Education is all that is needed from participating products.  To see a list of participating products you may go on line to www.boxtops4education.com.  You may drop off your labels and box tops in the school lobby or in the church lobby.  Through these programs additional educational items are able to be obtained.
