ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL: Esau Forgives Jacob (Genesis 31:3; 32-33).

BLANKETS FOR THE HABITAT HOMES: We will be sewing eight (8) blankets for the two (2) Habitat homes that we have worked on.  We have the sizes of the beds and colors of the rooms.  If anyone is interested in working on this project of love or has fabric to donate, please contact Nora Horecny, Terry or Steve Lindgren or Sharon in the church office for additional information. 

SEPTEMBER is FOOD PANTRY COLLECTION MONTH:  September is our month to collect and stock the shelves at the Food Pantry.  Today after each service bags will be distributed with a list of suggested food staples.  Please take time when you are shopping for your family to shop for those less fortunate also.  The need is great.  There is a box in the church lobby for you to bring your donation.  Our Savior has been an example to others for caring for the least; let us continue to answer God’s call to care for our fellow man and serve God and others.

CONFIRMATION RETREAT: A Confirmation Retreat is scheduled for September 21-23.  This retreat is mandatory for all 7th and 8th grade students. Completed permission slips need to be turned into the church office by September 16.  We also need parents to assist with meals and transportation, please contact the church office to see where you can serve.

ADULT HANDBELL CHOIR RESUMES:  Adult Choir begins this Thursday at 6:30 PM.  Anyone, high school age or older, is welcome to join us. 

FALL MUMS FOR SALES:  The 8th Grade Class is selling Fall Mums to raise funds for their class trip.  Your may place your order in the school office or on the church bulletin board. Color varieties include yellow, white, bronze, red/maroon, or pink/lavender. Orders with payment must be turned in by September 21st into the school office.  Make checks payable to OSLS Class of 2008. 

POTLUCK DINNER:  Plan to attend the Experiencing God Potluck Dinner and Introductory Session immediately following the late service on Sunday, September 30.   This is a must for those signed up for a small group and for those still not sure what it is all about.  Bring a side dish to serve 10-12 and a dessert.

ADDRESS/TELEPHONE DIRECTORY: It is important that everyone check the information provided to ensure the most accurate directory may be printed. A current copy has been placed on the Welcome Center for you to verify your information. Please correct any information next to your name legibly.

SUMMER SUNDAY MORNING ADULT BIBLE CLASS: HEROES OF THE FAITH Bible Class will continue to meet through September 30th for all adults in the Fellowship Hall. Each study is independent of the others.

Entertainment Books for 2007-2008 are available from LWML for $20 in the church office and school office.  Make your checks payable to LWML. The Entertainment Books have discount coupons for local restaurants, entertainment activities, services, and other discounts.  Come by the church office to purchase one.  These books make great gifts.  Some restaurants included are Café Emilie, Shalimar, Magdalena’s, Ferd Grisanti, Bootleg Bar-B-Q, Burger King, Steak & Shake, Baskin Robbins, Graeters, Sonics, and numerous local pizza establishments just to name a few.  For entertainment there are coupons for the Zoo, Holiday World, movie theaters, Frazier Historical Museum, Speed Museum, Ali Center, Puzzle Dome, Champs, Iceland, Renaissance Park, bowling, golf, and many more.  If you have any questions please contact Billie Detroy. 

FREE:  Copies of the 2001 Reformation Service featuring Oswald Hoffmann on VHS.  The tapes are located in the church lobby.  There are 50 copies available to members of Our Savior. 

WE ARE EXPERIENCING GOD:  He is in a love relationship with you.  Explore that relationship in an EXPERIENCING GOD Small Group.  You can sign up beginning next Sunday, on the windows outside Paul Nickel’s office. 

AFTER SCHOOL CHILDCARE TEACHER POSITION AVAILABLE: The position is from 3 – 6 PM, Monday - Friday, caring for 3 and 4 year old children in a classroom setting. Anyone 21 years of age or older, meet the Kentucky licensing requirements, and able to pass a police records check may submit an application to Mr. Brieschke.  

CUB SCOUT CAR WASH:  Sunday, September 30, after the late Service and during the Potluck Meal.  Plan now to have your car cleaned while you eat.
