There will not be a pot-luck meal associated with this meeting.

TODAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL: The children will learn about how God saved the Hebrews by parting the Red Sea and how God saved us through the washing of water in Holy Baptism (Exodus 3:17-15:21).  Ask your children to tell you what they know about this story.  Talk about how God fights for us and saves us from sin, death, and the devil and about Baptism and how water combine with God’s Word washes you clean from sin and given you eternal life.

PARENTS OF SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN: During the 11 AM service, the Sunday School children need to be present on November 18th, as three important events will take place.  First the Sunday School children will be singing; secondly, the Fourth grade children will be presenting the Third Grade children their own Bibles; and finally Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are due and they will be BLESSED during the services.  Thank You!

THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS: Our Savior is assisting EACM to provide Thanksgiving Baskets for those less fortunate in our area.  Baskets are provided (with a list) to return the food in.  You don’t need a basket to shop.  Additional lists of items needed are located on the table in the church lobby by the poster.  Please return your gifts for others by TODAY. “God our Maker, doth provide, For our wants to be supplied.” LSB Hymn 892.

LUTHERAN EDUCATION ANNUAL FUND (LEAF): this annual campaign is an important part of the Department of Day School’s budget and helps subsidize the cost of educating the students.  There are tables set up in the church and elevator lobbies to assist our members in the collection of donations.  Your participation in LEAF helps maintain a quality learning environment at OSLS.

TAGGED AS AN USHER?: Bob Tancula is working on ushering teams for the 2008 calendar year.  Be careful if he comes up and tags you for a team.  But don’t worry, you will only have to serve about once a month and the more people he tags the less often you will have to serve. You receive free on-the-job training by professionals and the best benefit of all you are serving the Lord and the members of Our Savior.  If you would like to usher for the 8:30 or 11 AM service you may also contact the church office.

ANGEL TREE: Take an Angel from the tree and when you are shopping for your family pick up an item or two on the list and bring them to the church lobby unwrapped. We celebrate the love God has for us when He sent His Son Jesus to us.  Christmas is a time to share that love with others, those we know and strangers.  Thank you for remembering those less fortunate at this special time of year by shopping with an angel.
