ANNOUNCEMENTS

IMPORTANT CONGREGATION MEETING: Next Sunday, January 13th immediately following the late Service. The Youth Call Committee has a Pastoral Candidate to bring before the congregation for a possible vote to extend a call.  Adam Kuder, 34 years of age, has been married for one year and is from Fanwood, NJ. Adam is a December St. Louis Seminary Graduate. He received his BA from Concordia University Bronxville, NY. His wife received her degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar, MO. Adam has a passion for youth ministry, young adults, small groups, evangelism, music and outreach.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Today we learn of the visit of the Wise Men (Matthew 2).  The story teaches us that the Savior came into the world for the salvation of all people. Just as the Wise Men came to Bethlehem to see the Savior and honor Him, so we come to church to see the Savior in His Word and Sacraments. With these gifts, He both honors and blesses us. Discuss how in our sin we are like Herod and do not want to worship Jesus. Talk about the details of the story and see how they compare with “tradition.”

BLANKET DAYS: Ladies gather your sewing supplies together as we plan to work on blankets towards the end of the month.  We will work all day long so please bring a sack lunch. If you want to work ahead, there are some blankets already pieced together that just need to be sewn in the LWML Room.  If you have any questions please contact Carolyn Nowatka.

NEW MEMBER CLASS: Pastor Fausel will be leading a “New Member Class” for those who want to learn more about our church and its teachings, on Saturday, January 26, from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM, with lunch included. This class will cover the study of the basic tenents of the Christian Faith and introduce the participants to our practice of the faith here at Our Savior.  Please contact the church office, 426-1130, if you plan to attend so that we can reserve a space for you.

ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS FOR 2007-2008: are available from LWML for $20 in the church office and school office.  Make your checks payable to LWML.
