SUNDAY SCHOOL NEEDS YOUR HELP:  The Sunday School is in need of those interested in teaching, subbing or helping behind the scenes with projects.  There will be an informational session, this Wednesday, September 16, at 7 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  If you cannot attend, but would like to help, please contact Liz Nickel, 415-6838.

FOOD PANTRY COLLECTIONS:  Our Savior is responsible for supplying the EACM’s Food Pantry during the month of September.  All non-perishable food items are appreciated, especially those with meat in them and everyday toiletry items.  The drop off location is in the Fellowship Hall.  Especially needed are canned meats, quick fix meals (ravioli, etc.), pancake mix and syrup, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, soup, crackers, cereal, and fruit.  Grocery bags are available with a list of suggested items.  

STEPHEN MINISTRY MEETING: The Stephen Ministry meeting scheduled on September 21 at 7 PM has been changed to Tuesday, September 22 at 7 PM. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Whitsett.  

GOLDEN OLDIES – CREATION MUSEUM TRIP: THERE IS STILL ROOM ON THE BUS, so sign-up in the church lobby TODAY.  If you have signed up or still want to sign up for the Creation Museum Trip in October, your payment is due TODAY. Make checks payable to Our Savior Golden Oldies and place into the offering plate or give to John Moore.  If you have any questions contact Sue Kendt, 254-1612.

NURSERY NEWS:  The Sunday Morning nursery is in need of some current and/or gently used items; specifically, DVD's, toys, art supplies, etc. 2010 NURSERY SCHEDULE: The 2010 Nursery Schedule will be completed in the next few months.  PLEASE let Sue Francik know if you are interested in helping us out in any way.

NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTION OF OFFICERS:  If you are a member or you know a member who would like to run for any of the following positions President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Elders, Evangelism, School Board, Building and Grounds.  Please submit the name to Luther Oberhaus, Karen McKinney, Caron Fausel, or Norm Kendt. The position of President and Vice President are 1-year terms and the other positions are 2-year terms.

KROGER GIFT CARDS: Are you looking for extra ways to help support Our Savior? If you shop or purchase gasoline at Kroger’s; why not stop in the church office and purchase a Kroger Gift Card for $5. The Gift card is worth $5 at Kroger and is rechargeable at the register before your purchases for any amount.  The card can be charged with a credit card, check, or cash, which only takes a few minutes.  Stop by the church office today.  

FALL WOMEN’S RETREAT AT CAMP LAKEVIEW:  Ladies, once again, Lakeview is offering a fantastic Women’s Retreat on October 9-11, with special guest speaker Jan Burnette. Her topic for the weekend will be Beside Still Waters, based on Psalm 23.  A list is on the bulletin board for those who would like to carpool.  

NEWSLETTER ASSISTANCE:  A volunteer is needed to take the newsletter on a monthly basis to the Post Office.  If you are able to assist with this task, please contact the church office.  Thank you.  

ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS: Entertainment books are available now for purchase ($20 each) in the church office.  They have some great coupons for many local restaurants and other businesses and activities.  

DINING OUT TOGETHER (DOT):  We will gather at  Mitchell’s Fish Market at the Summit on Saturday, September 19 at 6 PM. Our group is growing, hope you will join us for food, fellowship and fun. If you have any questions, please contact Billie Detroy, 905-4834.   

HELP FOR SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN:  The church office has received names and addresses of several soldiers who are fighting in Afghanistan who do not receive mail or care-packages. If you would like to receive a name with which to correspond or send a care package, please contact the church office. This is a great outreach ministry for children to participate.

YOUTH GROUP ICE CREAM FUNDRAISER-TODAY:  The youth group is working hard to earn the money to attend the 2010 youth gathering. Their next fundraiser will be an Ice Cream fundraiser TODAY after late service. There will be a variety of Eddy’s ice cream flavors from which to choose and also an Ice Bar, with a variety of toppings. Please support your Youth Group in their quest to attend the 2010 Youth Gathering.

SENIOR HIGH ABS: Senior High ABS will meet nest Sunday, September the 20, after late service.  

LUTHERAN WITNESS SUBSCRIPTIONS: If you would like to order a subscription for the 2010 Lutheran Witness, please submit a completed form along with payment to the church office.  The deadline is October 26.  Forms are located on the church bulletin board.
