OKTOBER FEST: Yes, it’s Fall!! … as of the 22nd of September.  So, to celebrate, join the Our Savior Family for an OKTOBER FEST on our 4th Saturday this month, September 26 serving traditional German OKTOBER FEST Cuisine.  Bring a dessert and your choice of “Bavarian” beverage.  The fun starts at 5 PM. THIS IS A NIGHT FOR ADULTS AND OCTOBER IS JUST FOR THE KIDS.  

KIDS, KIDS, KIDS… The October Fellowship Night is all about you!  Join us as the Kamman Christ Care group holds a “Trunk or Treat” night on Saturday, October 24.  This night is being specially designed to bring in kids from all over the community. So, BRING YOUR FRIENDS!  See you there!!

GOLDEN OLDIES: The Golden Oldies will meet TOMORROW at 12 PM for a Pot-Luck Meal and a presentation with Chaplain Ken Baehm, from the Backside Ministry.  Meat will be provided, please bring a side dish, which will feed 10-12 people.  PLEASE SIGN UP on the Golden Oldies poster, in the Fellowship Hall, for your dish of choice.

FOOD PANTRY COLLECTIONS: Our Savior is responsible for supplying the EACM’s Food Pantry during the month of September.  All non-perishable food items are appreciated, especially those with meat in them and everyday toiletry items.  The drop off location is in the Fellowship Hall.  Especially needed are canned meats, quick fix meals (ravioli, etc.), pancake mix and syrup, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, soup, crackers, cereal, and fruit.  Grocery bags are available with a list of suggested items.  

FEDERATION OF LUTHERAN CHURCHES: Our next delegate meeting will be Monday, September 21, at Gloria Dei in E-town.  Their congregation has invited the delegates to a light meal beginning at 6 PM, followed by the meeting at 7 PM, with the 2010 Budget being adopted. Each congregation is entitled to four (4) lay delegates in addition to their pastor.  

STEPHEN MINISTRY MEETING: The Stephen Ministry meeting has been changed to Tuesday, September 22 at 7 PM. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Whitsett.  

SUNDAY MORNING PEACEMAKER BIBLE STUDY: The Bible Study is relocating from the gymnasium into the Sanctuary TODAY, in order to provide better audio for those in attendance.

NURSERY NEWS: The Sunday Morning nursery is in need of some current and/or gently used items; specifically, DVD's, toys, art supplies, etc. 2010 NURSERY SCHEDULE: The 2010 Nursery Schedule will be completed in the next few months.  PLEASE let Sue Francik know if you are interested in helping us out in any way.

SENIOR HIGH ABS: Senior High ABS will meet TODAY, after late service.  

LUTHERAN WITNESS SUBSCRIPTIONS: If you would like to order a subscription for the 2010 Lutheran Witness, please submit a completed form along with payment to the church office.  The deadline is October 26.  Forms are located on the church bulletin board.

NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTION OF OFFICERS: If you are a member or you know a member who would like to run for any of the following positions President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Elders, Evangelism, School Board, Building and Grounds.  Please names to Luther Oberhaus, Karen McKinney, Caron Fausel, or Norm Kendt. All are 2-year terms, according to the last revision of the By-Laws.

KROGER GIFT CARDS: Are you looking for extra ways to help support Our Savior? If you shop or purchase gasoline at Kroger’s; why not stop in the church office and purchase a Kroger Gift Card for $5. The Gift card is worth $5 at Kroger and is rechargeable at the register before your purchases for any amount.  The card can be charged with a credit card, check, or cash, which only takes a few minutes.  Stop by the church office today.  

FALL WOMEN’S RETREAT AT CAMP LAKEVIEW: Ladies, once again, Lakeview is offering a fantastic Women’s Retreat on October 9-11, with special guest speaker Jan Burnette. Her topic for the weekend will be Beside Still Waters, based on Psalm 23.  A list is on the bulletin board for those who would like to carpool.  

NEWSLETTER ASSISTANCE: A volunteer is needed to take the newsletter on a monthly basis to the Post Office.  If you are able to assist with this task, please contact the church office.  Thank you.  

ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS: Entertainment books are available now for purchase ($20 each) in the church office.  They have some great coupons for many local restaurants, other businesses and activities.

PECAN SALE: The Lutheran Braille Workers at Concordia Lutheran are selling 1-lb. bags of the fancy mammoth pecan halves to help defray the cost of the materials they use. To order your pecans, call Concordia’s church office (585-4459) or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The last day to order is Monday September 21. The cost is $8 per bag. Checks should be made payable to “Concordia Lutheran Church.” Please write “LBW pecans” on the memo line. Pecans can be picked up and paid for at Concordia between October 1 and November 1.
