OSLS FALL FESTIVAL: The Fall Festival is scheduled for October 10, from 12-4 PM. There will be games, food, fellowship and fun for all ages. Booth space is available for rent for anyone who has craft or a business vendors. Forms for booth rentals are available in the school and church office. Advance Ticket sales will go on sale soon at the price of 5 tickets for a $1. Tickets at the door with be 4 tickets for a $1. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to share an afternoon of fun. MAGAZINE SALES: Anyone who would like to buy a magazine subscription or cookie dough are encouraged to find a student from OSLS. You may also go online at www.qsp.com and use the school’s code of 425000415 and follow the instructions. This is a great opportunity to use as a gift for family and friends who are out of town. Please contact the school office with any questions. The sale ends Tuesday. AHG USED UNIFORM SALES: The American Heritage Girls Troop will have another uniform sale during the Fall Festival. Donations of new or gently used uniforms are being accepted in the large purple bin in the school lobby. NEW WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: “Holding Out for a Hero”, by Lisa Harper, will being this six-week course on Monday, October 5 in the Faculty Lounge from 6:30-8:30 PM or on Fridays, at 12 PM in the home of Melissa Nelson with a light lunch provided. CALLING FOR ALL GREAT RECIPES: The deadline for the PTL Cookbook has been extended until, Wednesday, September 30. Please submit recipes, the book will not be the same without something from you. PORTALS OF PRAYER: Beginning this Quarter (Oct-Dec), a special thank you to a generous member who has provided copies of Portals of Prayer for members of the congregation. Please only take one per family so that every family may have a copy if they desire. They are available in the church lobby and in the narthex. If you cannot locate a copy, please contact the church office. VIDEO TO DVD TRANSFER WITH FOOD DONATION: EACM is partnering with Flicko’s in Middletown to help gather food for their food pantry. Just by taking some non-perishable food items to Flicko’s you will receive a free video to DVD transfer. FOOD PANTRY COLLECTIONS: Our Savior is responsible for supplying the EACM’s Food Pantry during the month of September. All non-perishable food items are appreciated, especially those with meat in them and everyday toiletry items. The drop off location is in the Fellowship Hall. OCTOBER’S COLLECTION: The collection for the month of October will be going to Redeemer’s Food Pantry, our sister congregation. Especially needed are canned meats, quick fix meals (ravioli, etc.), pancake mix and syrup, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, soup, crackers, cereal, and fruit. Grocery bags are available with a list of suggested items. They are also having a WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE, in which they are gathering (new or gently used) coats, boots, gloves, scarves, mittens, sweatshirts, etc. Please consider donating. SUNDAY MORNING PEACEMAKER BIBLE STUDY: The Bible Study is meeting in the Sanctuary, in order to provide better audio for those in attendance. NURSERY NEWS: The Sunday Morning nursery is in need of some current and/or gently used items; specifically, DVD's, toys, art supplies, etc. 2010 NURSERY SCHEDULE: The 2010 Nursery Schedule will be completed in the next few months. PLEASE let Sue Francik know if you are interested in helping us out in any way. LUTHERAN WITNESS SUBSCRIPTIONS: If you would like to order a subscription for the 2010 Lutheran Witness, please submit a completed form along with payment to the church office. The deadline is October 26. Forms are located on the church bulletin board. NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTION OF OFFICERS: If you are a member or you know a member who would like to run for any of the following positions President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Elders, Evangelism, School Board, Building and Grounds. Please names to Luther Oberhaus, Karen McKinney, Caron Fausel, or Norm Kendt. All are 2-year terms, according to the last revision of the By-Laws. KROGER GIFT CARDS: Are you looking for extra ways to help support Our Savior? If you shop or purchase gasoline at Kroger’s; why not stop in the church office and purchase a Kroger Gift Card for $5. The Gift card is worth $5 at Kroger and is rechargeable at the register before your purchases for any amount. The card can be charged with a credit card, check, or cash, which only takes a few minutes. Stop by the church office today. FALL WOMEN’S RETREAT AT CAMP LAKEVIEW: Ladies, once again, Lakeview is offering a fantastic Women’s Retreat on October 9-11, with special guest speaker Jan Burnette. Her topic for the weekend will be Beside Still Waters, based on Psalm 23. A list is on the bulletin board for those who would like to carpool. NEWSLETTER ASSISTANCE: A volunteer is needed to take the newsletter on a monthly basis to the Post Office. If you are able to assist with this task, please contact the church office. Thank you. ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS: Entertainment books are available now for purchase ($20 each) in the church office. They have some great coupons for many local restaurants, other businesses and activities. HELP FOR SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN: The church office has received names and addresses of several soldiers who are fighting in Afghanistan who do not receive mail or care-packages. If you would like to receive a name with which to correspond or send a care package, please contact the church office. This is a great outreach ministry for children to participate. FALL BLOOD DRIVE: Our fall drive will be held on Wednesday, October 7, from 1:30 – 6:30 PM. Sign ups will may done between service in the church lobby or in the lobby by the elevator. MEN’S MINISTRY RETREAT: October 16-17 (Friday-Saturday) Men’s Ministry will be having a retreat at the Lose’s Farm. Contact Paul Nickel for a map. Sign up outside of Paul Nickel’s Office. We will meet at church on Friday at 4 PM and carpool. The cost is $20 for the three meals. Please bring your Pillow, Sleeping Bags, Bibles, Flashlights, & Bug Repellent. Join us for a day and a half of hiking, campfires, good food and self-exploration. Revel in the Lord’s Creation!
