NEW MEMBER CLASS:  On Saturday, November 7, Pastor Fausel will be conducting the next New Member class from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  Lunch will be included.  Those wishing to join Our Savior other than by transfer from another Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation are asked to attend.  Please register for this class by calling the church office, 426-1130, so that we can have an accurate lunch-count and enough materials on hand.  Please call Pastor Fausel, 426-1130 if you have any questions.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY NOTES: 1) TODAY – all adults are asked to meet in the sanctuary at 10 AM to view an edited version of the movie “Martin Luther.” This will be a great opportunity to review the heritage from which the Lutheran Church grew. 2) NEXT Sunday, November 1, all adults are asked to meet in the sanctuary at 9:45 am to join together for Rally Day Number 2 – “Honey Day.” After the children depart, adults will learn about the opportunities for growing in our faith available for adults both on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.

VIDEO TO DVD TRANSFER WITH FOOD DONATION:  EACM is partnering with Flicko’s in Middletown to help gather food for their food pantry. Just by taking some non-perishable food items to Flicko’s you will receive a free video to DVD transfer.

ALL CHURCH/SCHOOL BUILDING KEY HOLDERS: For accountability and updating the church records, everyone having a key to the church or school building needs to please contact Sharon in the church office, 426-1130, or Jim Snyder.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: This is an opportunity to share God’s love through a shoebox to children in other countries.  Dedication Sunday for the Shoeboxes will be November 22.  Please start now by wrapping a shoebox (including the lid) in Christmas paper, determine if you will send to a boy or a girl and begin filling it with small items such as toys, personal care items,  hard candy, mints, socks, sunglasses, hair clips, or other items that you find.

KROGER GIFT CARDS: Are you looking for extra ways to help support Our Savior? If you shop or purchase gasoline at Kroger’s; why not stop in the church office and purchase a Kroger Gift Card for $5. The Gift card is worth $5 at Kroger and is rechargeable at the register before your purchases for any amount.  The card can be charged with a credit card, check, or cash, which only takes a few minutes.  Stop by the church office today.

POPCORN SALES: Cub Scout Troop 305 is selling a variety of popcorn in tins and microwavable packets and there is an opportunity to purchase popcorn and send it to the military. This makes a wonderful gift.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF 2 YEAR OLDS:  If anyone is interested in attending a Sunday morning Bible Study for Parents and 2’s please contact Liz Nickel, 415-6838.

BOX TOPS AND LABELS FOR EDUCATION: Did you know if you register on-line at www.ElabelsforEducation.com, the school receives automatic accounting your qualifying purchases for Labels for Education.  Between now and November 11, for every 4 items you purchase the school receives an extra 100 points towards their purchase of items.  Then you can turn the labels in at school and they will be counted for a second time for the school to get credit.  Box Tops are also valuable for the school, with each top having a cash value of $0.10.  The school has a goal for 20,000 ($2,000) this school year, so remember to save all of them no matter how small, in an envelope, and turn them in at the church or school offices. When you spread the word of the goal, others are willing to help make the goal, so set up a container for your co-workers to help you collect them, as people who know you will help you work towards your goal.

SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL VOTER’S MEETING: A special Congregational Meeting is being called for Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 7 PM for the sole purpose of approving a joint resolution requested by Pastor Adam Kuder and the Council of Our Savior Lutheran Church, for a 6-month sabbatical leave to begin November 1, 2009 and end April 30, 2010.  It is Pastor Kuder’s desire that at the end of this leave he will be released from his call to Our Savior Lutheran Church.

If you would like to receive a name with which to correspond or send a care package, please contact the church office. This is a great outreach ministry for children to participate.
