SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED:  God has blessed Our Savior with many children in our Sunday School classes and we need to divide some of the larger groups to allow for a better learning opportunity. If you enjoy sharing Jesus with children, please contact Sunday School superintendent Liz Nickel, 415-6838, if you can help.

L.E.A.F. (LUTHERAN EDUCATION ANNUAL FUND): information should be coming your way in the next few weeks.  Please consider contributing to this most important fund, which helps us meet ongoing expenses each year.  Thank you for your past support as well.

USHERS NEEDED AT THE 11 AM SERVICE:  We are in need of two (2) ushering teams for the 11 AM service.  If you would like to serve as an usher, please contact the church office. Free on the job training will be provided.

NOVEMBER FOOD PANTRY COLLECTIONS:  For the month of October, the Redeemer Pantry helped supply 294 souls with food.  The collection for the month of November will be going to Redeemer’s Food Pantry, our sister congregation. Especially needed are canned meats, quick fix meals (ravioli, etc.), pancake mix and syrup, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, soup, crackers, cereal, and fruit.  They are also having a WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE, in which they are gathering (new or gently used) coats, boots, gloves, scarves, mittens, sweatshirts, etc. Please consider donating, DEADLINE NOV. 15.  Boxes are set up on the table in the Fellowship Hall for the clothing.

EACM THANKSGIVING BASKETS: We will again this year be providing EACM Thanksgiving Baskets for families in our community.  A list of items needed and baskets are located in the church lobby. Please note that the food does not need to be in a basket for drop off at church, they are provided for your convenience.

GOLDEN OLDIES:  The Golden Oldies will meet November 16, at 12 Noon for our Thanksgiving Luncheon.  It will be potluck with the meat provided.  Please sign up to bring your favorite dish, which needs to feed 10-12 people, as there will be a large number in attendance.  Our guest speaker, Mr. Tom Owens, from the University of Louisville will speak to our on “Life in the Old City Neighborhood”.

MEN’S MINISTRY:  Join us on Saturday, November 14, at 8 AM for Breakfast and a Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall.

HELP FOR SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN:  The church office has received names and addresses of several soldiers who are fighting in Afghanistan who do not receive mail or care-packages. If you would like to receive a name with which to correspond or send a care package, please contact the church office. This is a great outreach ministry for children to participate.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF 2 YEAR OLDS:  If anyone is interested in attending a Sunday morning Bible Study for Parents and 2’s please contact Liz Nickel, 415-6838.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: If anyone is interested in helping out with the Christmas Sunday School program, please contact Liz Nickel, 415-6838.

BOX TOPS AND LABELS FOR EDUCATION: Did you know if you register on-line at www.ElabelsforEducation.com, the school receives automatic accounting of your qualifying purchases for Labels for Education. Between now and November 11, for every 4 items you purchase the school receives an extra 100 points towards their purchase of items. Then you can turn the labels in at school and they will be counted for a second time for the school to get credit.  The school has a goal for 20,000 this school year, so remember to save all of them no matter how small, in an envelope, and turn them in at the church or school offices.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: This is an opportunity to share God’s love through a shoebox to children in other countries.  Dedication Sunday for the Shoeboxes will be November 22.  Please start now by wrapping a shoebox (including the lid) in Christmas paper, determine if you will send to a boy or a girl and begin filling it with the items on the pamphlet.

BACKSIDE MEAL: There is no meal this month. There will be a collection for the family Christmas party gifts (as usual) and I would appreciate a couple shoppers. Call Karen Osborne, 243-1765.

ALL CHURCH/SCHOOL BUILDING KEY HOLDERS: For accountability and updating the church records, everyone having a key to the church or school building needs to please contact Sharon in the church office, 426-1130, or Jim Snyder.
