Our Savior Lutheran Church

INDIANA DISTRICT STAFF: The Indiana District Staff meets for prayer and Bible Study on Monday mornings. At this time, they pray for the congregations and schools of the district. This week our congregation and school will be in their prayers.  Continue to remember them in your prayers as they carry out the work of the Kingdom. 

GOLDEN OLDIES: The Golden Oldies will gather TOMORROW at Noon for their Christmas Meal and program, featuring the musical talent of the children of OSLS.  Please sign up on the display in the church lobby for the dish you will bring to serve 10-12 people.

ADVENT MEAL AND WORSHIP: December 16, will be our last light Advent meal at 6 PM followed by the Advent service at 7 PM, please plan to join us.

DECEMBER FOOD PANTRY COLLECTIONS: The collection for the month of December will be going to Redeemer’s Food Pantry, our sister congregation.

ALTAR POINSETTIAS: TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ORDER.  The order forms with instructions and envelopes are on the display in the narthex. The cost is $10/plant.  Checks should be made payable to LWML.

CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT: OSLS presents a special Christmas Program on December 17 at 7 PM, Carols by Candlelight. This program begins in the Sanctuary and will end with a carol sing outside the school circle in candle light (weather permitting). Everyone is invited to attend. 

L.E.A.F. (LUTHERAN EDUCATION ANNUAL FUND): This campaign began November 9 and has received donations and matching funds totaling $8,600.  This is almost 20% of our goal.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match eligible member donations at $1 for every $2 given. 

NEW CHRISTCARE GROUP: A ChristCare group is being formed for moms and daughters (in the 6th -8th grade). We will meet on Saturday afternoons twice a month.  An initial meeting will be on Saturday, January 9 at 2 PM in the church lobby.  If you have any questions, please contact Dana Netherton at 451-5474 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. BIBLE STUDY FOR WOMEN:  If you plan to attend the Bible study with Amy Mittlestat, Traveling Light: Releasing the Burden You Were Never Meant To Bear, in January, please sign-up on the church lobby bulletin board so enough materials may be ordered.  Children are welcomed at this class.  Please contact Amy with any questions at 269-275-3479.

COOKIE THANK YOU:  A warm cookie thank you to all those who donated cookies, assembled the trays, or delivered the packages of cookies. Your support of our shut-ins during this time of year is wonderful. 

FAMILY ORNAMENTS FOR THE LOBBY CHRISTMAS TREE:  The Christmas tree in the church lobby is decorated with ornaments, which represent the families of Our Savior.  Family’s new to Our Savior are encouraged to make an ornament, which has their name and represents them and place it on the tree. 

NURSERY:  The Nursery will only be staffing the nursery for early service and Bible Study hour on December 20, as the mom’s who normally staff the nursery will be attending the Sunday School Christmas program during the 11 AM Worship Service.

ALTAR GUILD MEMBERS:  Will meet December 23 at 3PM to finish the decorating and prepare for the Christmas Services.  Anyone interested in helping is welcome to attend.
