NURSERY NEWS: We need volunteers to staff the nursery NEXT Sunday, May 2 and May 9 (Mother’s Day). The main concern is 9:45am to noon. Please contact Sue Francik at 381-3597 if you can help either day. PORTALS OF PRAYER: The new issues of Portals of Prayer are available in the Narthex. ADULT BIBLE STUDY: Faith Aflame: 360 Degrees Bible Study is meeting weekly in the gym during the Sunday School hour, 10:00-10:45am. Please join us for a joy-filled study that will help you become a more perfect steward of the many blessings you’ve been given. There is always plenty of room for YOU to join us! Questions?? Contact study leaders Mike Terkula or Tim Mueller. NOW FORMING-SUMMER GOLF LEAGUE: the Third season for Our Savior’s Golf League will get underway in early May! Tuesday evenings at Long Run Golf Course. Sign up now, limited to the first 32 participants! Questions: Contact John Kuecker at 222-1048. MEN’S SOFTBALL: Games are Monday nights at Watkins United Methodist on the corner of Hurstbourne and Westport. Cost is $40. Games start after Derby and run through the end of August. EACM DONATIONS: Food donations collected during the month of April will be given to the Eastern Area Community Ministries. There is a big need for toilet paper, shampoo, tooth paste, and bath soap, although all donations are welcomed. Donations can be put in boxes in fellowship hall. THRIVENT BUILDS WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: Raise the Roof for this year’s house is May 14 &15. Other scheduled work days are June 12 and July 24. If you would like to volunteer for any for these dates please sign up on the bulletin board outside the church office. Funds needed for this year’s house are $8630. If you would like to contribute, there are envelopes on the table in the narthex. Please make the checks payable to Our Savior Lutheran Church with a memo for Thrivent Builds. Questions? Please contact Sue Wolter @243-4187. BLOOD DONORS needed. Our spring BLOOD DRIVE will be held on Wed.; May 12, 2:00-7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Sign ups will begin today (April 25). Help make this a successful event and be a donor if you are able. YARD SALE sponsored by LWML will be June 11 and 12, 8am to 4pm. Start saving items now! Household etc. Children and large adult size clothing only please. LWML gladly sponsored the coffee and goodies this morning in coordination with their monthly meetings, held the 4th Sunday of the month in the church lobby during the Sunday School hour. Please note, all women who hold membership at Our Savior are members of the Lutheran Women’s Ministry League and they would be honored to have you in attendance at their next meeting, May 23. MOTHER’S DAY ROSES FOR SALE: Long stemmed roses will be available to purchase at $2.00 a stem or $20.00 a dozen on Mother’s Day, May 9. Proceeds will benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center. THANK YOU from Steve Lindgren for the abundant prayers and well wishes during the past several months while he was experiencing health complications related to his diabetes, now manageable. He has returned to his normal schedule. CHRISTCARE PICNIC: All ChirstCare group members are invited to attend a potluck picnic to celebrate the ministry of ChristCare on Sunday, May 23, beginning at 4:00pm, at Robinson Park in Lyndon. Bring: a main dish, side dish, salad or dessert; chairs; beverages and picnic/outdoor games. MOTHER/DAUGHTER TEA: YES! It’s almost “Tea Time” again! Our American Heritage Girls Troop is hosting our Second Annual Mother/Daughter Tea fundraiser on Saturday, May 8, 11:00am-1:00pm. Tickets are on sale NOW and are $12/person through May 5 ($15/person after). Our “Rainbows-themed” event will include a light lunch and other activities. PLEASE JOIN US!! DONATIONS APPRECIATED: Since the Tea is our largest fundraiser of the year, we would especially appreciate any donations of finger sandwiches, tea or cash donations for decorations.
