CHRISTCARE PICNIC: EVERYONE is invited (not just ChristCare members) to attend a potluck picnic to celebrate the ministry of ChristCare on Sunday, May 23, beginning at 4:00pm, at Robinson Park in Lyndon. Bring: a main dish, side dish, salad or dessert; chairs; beverages and picnic/outdoor games.

MIMI’S CAFÉ  has been selected for the next Dining Out event on May 22 at 6:00 PM, 615 Hurstbourne.  We are rotating restaurants from the Taste of Our Savior. Our group grew significantly last year with good times had by all.  It’s great to show appreciation to restaurants that supported the Taste. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Last day of regular Children’s Sunday School is May 23; there will be no Children’s Sunday School on May 30.  

YOU ARE INVITED to the installation service of Chris Truelson from Associate Pastor to the position of Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, May 23 during the 10:30 morning service. 

CHILDREN’S SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL starts June 6.  We are looking for summer teachers to commit to 1 or 2 Sundays this summer. Sign ups will be on the bulletin board outside the church office. Please speak to Liz Nickel with any questions.  

YARD SALE sponsored by LWML will be June 11 and 12, 8am to 4pm. Start saving items now! Household etc.  Children and large adult size clothing only please.   

SUMMER TIME is time for CAMP! Are you ready to go? You are cordially invited to the Camp Lakeview Annual Open House on Sunday, June 6, 2010. Worship will begin at 11:00am with guest speaker Rev. Phil Krupski from St. John Lutheran in Indianapolis. The service will be followed by a delicious picnic lunch and other afternoon activities including horseback riding, swimming, and tours of the new Lakeview Village expansion site. Come on out and see all the new exciting things growing up at camp! Everyone is welcomed! (For directions, call the camp at 812-342-4815).    

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEW AND EXCITING?! Consider hosting a high school foreign exchange student next school year for a semester – or even the entire school year. You may choose to host a 15-18 year-old from 49 different countries. There is no fee for the program. You simply provide room, board and transportation. Students will come with insurance and spending money. If you are interested, please contact Sally Crespo at 477-1972 for details.

CONGRATULATIONS! Annaliese and Bill Griffin have been recognized by the American Red Cross for their volunteer service (25 and 21 year respectively). Read their fascinating history with the Red Cross and why they chose this charity to work with on the church bulletin board.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: Our next Congregational Voters’ Meeting and Potluck will be on Sunday, June 6, following the 11:00am service.
