Our Savior Lutheran Church

This Unit lays the foundation that the entire study rests upon:
God not only IS Love … but God also loves each of us individually in ways that are “real, personal and practical.”

We get “to know” God’s love in three ways …

First, from God’s own testimony in Scripture as to His essence and in the ways He deals with mankind:

• Romans 8:35-39
• John 3:16 1

Second, from the testimony of the saints who have gone before us:

• Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:20-21)
• Noah (Genesis 6:5-6)
• Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3)
• Moses (Exodus 3:7-10)
• David (2 Samuel 12:7-8)
• Peter (see below)

And third, from our own “experience”: The importance of a Journal.

This Love relationship that God initiates with us then leads us to love Him and others (1 John 4:19), another way we “experience” Him.
