Music

Our Savior’s Fall Music Program is going full steam ahead!  But it is not too late to become involved.  We have many opportunities for service for those of you who have been blessed with musical talent and wish to use it for God’s glory.  This is a great way to not only serve the Lord, but also do something that you enjoy.  Please feel free to give our groups a try!  We’d love to have you.

Our Savior Adult Choir We continue to meet on Thursday evenings from 7:30 PM to 8:45 PM in the music room.  Anyone, high school age or older, is welcome to join us.  This is a great way to use your talents in an enjoyable way.   We are especially in need of male singers.  Come join us!  Questions?  Talk to Scott Kamman**.

Our Savior Festival Choir If you are unable to commit to singing with the choir regularly, but would still like to participate occasionally, there are opportunities to sing for special times, such as Christmas, Easter, Passion Week, or for an Our Savior concert/recital.  Rehearsal times will be announced prior to such events.

Contemporary Worship Praise Teams still graciously welcome any musician who is interested in using his or her talent to help us in our contemporary worship.  We are in special need of vocalists, wind instrumentalists, and guitar players! Schedules for worship teams will be drawn up in August for the fall.  If you would like to sing or play on a regular basis, talk to Scott Kamman**.  Time commitment depends solely on you, as little or as much as you desire.  Rehearsals are usually on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings.

Adult Handbell Choir (soon to be renamed!) will be starting up on Thursday, September 13.  We will meet on Thursday evenings directly before the choir rehearsal, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the choir room.  Anyone, high school age or older, is welcome to join us.  Basic music note reading ability is our only requirement.  If you’ve played handbells before, we will need you this fall!!  We’d like to be able to stretch back out to 3 full octaves.  Talk to Scott Kamman**.

Our Savior School Handbell Choirs (soon to be renamed!) is for any child from Our Savior Lutheran Church or School in grades 4-8 who has an interest in playing and has some music reading skills.  Information will be distributed the week of August 20.  We will be practicing after school from 3:30 – 4:30 PM in the music room.  First year beginners meet on Wednesdays; advanced students on Mondays. Questions?  Ask Scott Kamman**

Instrumentalists are always welcome to participate in worship, either by assisting in the accompanying of the hymns or playing special music for the worship service.    Talk to Scott Kamman**.

Our Savior Lutheran School Band is up and running for our school children in grades 3 and above during the school day.

Family Time Ministry

Family Time Ministry is underway and you can now begin learning the theme song with your family. You have two options for downloading it. You can find the song with lyrics here and the song without lyrics here.

Finally, the lyrics of the song can be found below:

Refrain:

Moms and Dads, sisters and brothers

Learning God’s promises together today

Praying and praising and sharing His love

Jesus and us time – it’s family time!

Verse 1:

God gave us His ten commandments,

He gave us His Word in Jesus Christ

We talk about God and His love through Jesus.

Jesus and us time – it’s family time!

Refrain

Verse 2:

We’ll listen to God and build our faith,

Working together to reflect His love,

Passing our faith to the next generation.

Jesus and us time – it’s family time!

Refrain
