Christ in You (Colossians 1:27)
Dear Members of the Our Savior Lutheran Church Email Prayer Chain,

Christ in You

To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. – Colossians 1:27

The heavenly Father’s plan from the beginning of time was to place His eternal Son in every believer. If you are a Christian, all the fullness of God dwells in you. Christ’s life becomes your life. When Christ lives in you, He brings every divine resource with Him. Every time you face a need, you meet it with the presence of the crucified, risen, and triumphant Lord of the universe inhabiting you. When God invites you to become involved in His work, He has already placed His Son in you so that He can carry out His assignment through your life.

This has significant implications for your Christian life. Discipleship is more than acquiring head knowledge and memorizing Scripture verses. It is learning to give Jesus total access to your life so He will live His life through you. Your greatest difficulty will be believing that your relationship with Christ is at the heart of your Christian life. When others watch you face a crisis, do they see the risen Lord responding? Does your family see the difference Christ makes when you face a need? What difference does the presence of Jesus Christ make in your life?

God wants to reveal Himself to those around you by working mightily through you. He wants your family to see Christ in you each day. God wants to express His love through your life. There is a great difference between living the Christian life and allowing Christ to live His life through you.

REFLECTION

Can you identify a situation in your life this past week where the presence of Christ in your life was visible?
What is the difference between living the Christian life and allowing Christ to live His life through you?

FOR CHURCH WORK

Pray that God will bring about His will through the life of Our Savior as He began to reveal it through Experiencing God and SiMPly Listening To God.

Pray that He lay the call to ministry on the hearts of one or two of our members to our Sunday School Ministry. We are in need of new Sunday School Superintendents.

Pray for our congregation as we approach a Congregation Budget Meeting on Sunday, April 20. Pray that we have the faith to believe that God can do what He says He can do in respect to a budget that reflects His ministry plan for His church in this place.

Begin praying for our Vacation Bible School this summer, that God will bring us all the volunteers we need to bring glory to His name through VBS this July 28 – August 1.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. --Romans 15:5, 6
