OUR SAVIOR TEAM

Our Savior is blessed with a faithful and courageous team of ministry leaders who prayerfully consider what God is doing to teach, love, and connect our members with God and others.

Reverend David Grasch

Born in Lexington, KY, I was baptized into our Lord and was a member of His body at St. John's Lutheran Church. My love for the Scriptures, the Service, and God's people grew as I did. After completing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, I went to Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, where I earned my Master of Divinity in 2026. Now God has called me back to Kentucky to be the pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church. It's a joy to serve Christ's church by preaching His Word and administering His Sacraments.

In 2023, I married my beloved Maddie, and a couple of years later, the Lord blessed us with our daughter. We are so excited to return to Kentucky—the state and its people have always held a special place in our hearts. When I'm not working, I love to learn, whether through books, articles, videos, or the classroom.

I was very interested in music from a young age, and started playing organ when I was only 8! As I got older, I learned piano and began playing for my home church in Seymour, IN. I went to Concordia University- Ann Arbor to pursue a teaching degree with a major in music. God called me first to St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Peru, IN in 1987. There I was a classroom teacher, music and choir director, and organist. In 1990, God called me to Our Savior. I started out as a classroom and music teacher, and played the organ. Over the years, my role evolved and eventually I was named the music director of the church and school. I received my Master’s Degree in Music Education from the U of L in 1998.

In 1996, I married Becky, who is also a teacher at our Savior. Together we have two lovely daughters, Hannah and Leah. I lead a small group, and Becky and I are handlers, as well as the caregivers for Mercy Comfort Dog. When not playing music, I enjoy travelling, reading, trivia, listening to all kinds of music, and watching Jeopardy.

My husband, Mitch, and I were married in 2009 and moved to Louisville in 2011. Originally trained as a Secondary English teacher at Martin Luther College, I subsequently spent five years in social work. After seven years as a full-time mom, I began working part-time at Our Savior while completing my Master's in Theology and DCE certification from Concordia University Irvine (2026).

My core passion is to bridge the gap between theological scholarship and everyday faith formation. Whether I am directing youth ministries, training small group leaders, leading Theology Club, or fostering cross-generational connections, I aim to equip others with biblical instruction that deepens their walk with the living God. Outside of ministry, you can usually find me hiking with my family, doing VR exercise, or reading in my backyard hammock. While I love classic literature and mysteries, I am most energized by diving deep into Scripture, systematic theology, and church history.
